Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is an advanced-level performance class for wind and percussion students. The class focuses on developing advanced music skills including instrumental techniques and performance practices as it relates to various idioms of selected band literature. Typically, the course will cover literature ranging from Grade IV-VI, which are set according to the guidelines of the North Carolina Bandmasters Association. Students perform as individuals, as members of small ensembles and as members of the large ensemble. The Wind Ensemble is expected to perform a minimum of four (4) concerts throughout the year. All students are expected to practice a minimum of 7 hours a week and are encouraged to take private lessons outside of school.
