About Us

The mission of the South Mecklenburg High School Band program is to build and establish musical foundations in every student. Based on these foundations students will be proficient performers on their instruments and will demonstrate knowledge of music theory. In addition, the South Meck High School Bands will provide a positive family atmosphere in which students can learn and exemplify the core values of pride, discipline, and unity. The embodiment of these values will not only be utilized in music performance but will be transferred from all facets of the student's life from the classroom and beyond.

The South Meck Bands will achieve the highest levels of group and individual excellence by creating a positive atmosphere for our family of dedicated, responsible and passionate members. The band will show integrity and pride through discipline and professionalism to benefit the whole program.
